Kathryn Hoedt, a 23-year-old TV producer from California, died in a freak rope swing accident.

The incident occurred at Folsom Lake, just outside of Sacramento.

Hoedt fell about 30 feet from the swing around 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday.

She landed on the shoreline at the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area.

Hoedt’s friends brought her to the Rattlesnake Bar boat ramp and an off-duty doctor performed CPR.

Emergency personnel took Hoedt to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Hoedt was a journalist who produced the morning show for California broadcaster KCRA .

Rope swings are not allowed at state parks, and Hoedt’s parents want signs put up to warn visitors against any swings that are at the sites.

Authorities removed lower branches from the tree containing the rope swings at Folsom Lake following the incident.
